West Virginia songwriter and piano bard Brad Goodall established himself as a vivid storyteller with his 2022 debut Made In America, drawing comparisons to Randy Newman and Warren Zevon for its uproariously satirical character studies. His latest album Hometown (out May 1st, 2026) is a marked evolution, trading humor for heart and solo perfectionism for full-band collaboration. Recorded at Nashville's The Bomb Shelter with drummer Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes), bassist Macey Taylor (Bright Eyes), and guitarist Zack Owens (Ona), the 9-song LP is joyful, reflective, and deeply personal, detailing love, marriage, and the complicated feeling of calling West Virginia home.
